Libertarians agree on certain things in the abortion debate:

1: The government should not fund abortions

2: Taxpayer money should not go toward organizations that provide abortions

3: The government should not administer or encourage abortion

What we don't agree on is whether an outright ban on abortion is justified. Some feel as though the rights of the infant outweigh the rights of the mother, and some feel as though the rights of the mother outweigh the rights of the infant (disregarding "evictionist" arguments for simplicity).

So, categorically, there are "Things libertarians are universally in agreement on" in abortion, and "Things that libertarians are not universally in agreement on" in abortion.

Is "Third Trimester Abortion" in the latter, or the former, camp?

I rarely come across anyone in liberty circles who defend the practice. In the third trimester, the baby is basically done being cooked, it just needs to be buffed up a bit. It's brain is active. It can hear you. It kicks and wiggles. Hell, it can probably survive outside the body with medical treatment and grow up to be a happy big human.

But lots of left-leaning people really fight for third trimester abortions for some reason.

So, debate away: What do you think about these abortions
