You should be very careful and only trust the Russian women less than half your age. Nobody would ever impersonate a barely-legal Russian woman in this economy. Send her an Apple gift card and see what she does with it, just to make sure.
(Serious answer: You have to remember that these apps want you to stay on them. They’re dis-incentivised from making a good match for you. The chance isn’t zero because they need the occasional success story to keep people hopeful, but I wouldn’t suggest getting too invested in them. Go and sign up for an activity you might enjoy, there might be other people there you could make friends with.)
