She reminds me of Tyra Banks when Tyra had her own abymal but still entertaining Daytime Talk show. Drew’s talk show is nowhere near as fun as Tyra was because that had crazy guests and Tyra was a loose cannon, from faking rabies to wearing dirty knickers. Drew’s show is pretty much fluffy celebrity interviews, with the occasional cooking lesson.
Drew has definitely improved, I remember when she kept reading her lines from the Teleprompter, and the absolute cringe she was, from not respecting personal boundaries with her cloying, overbearing sentimentality and touchy feely ways as well as her over the top reaction whenever her guests show up (“OMG, KATHY GARVER, you SAVED MY LIIIIIIFEEEEEE!!!”). She’s either crying or feigning surprise and the way she overreacts to everything is uncomfortable to watch, especially when she has guests who are clearly too serious and humourless to join her vibe (AKA Diane Lane).
There used to be a time I found Drew Barrymore very annoying, she’s calmed down on her childish behavior, thank god, but now we have to put up with Ross the Intern, biggest disservice to the gay community since Bobby Trendy designed Anna Nicole Smith’s bathroom, and an unemployed Valerie Bertinelli, who’s always ready to remind us how miserable she is. Next to these two, Drew is tolerable.
