A showjumper and a horse rider have been sentenced after forcing an underage girl into sex. Guy Simmonds, 37, and Lauren Jarvis, 26, knew the victim was under 16 but still targeted her in a planned encounter.

Simmonds, who runs an equestrian company, called himself “daddy” in messages to the teenager while he and Jarvis tried to initiate a “pact of silence” so the girl would not reveal their crimes.

Simmonds, who was described by the judge as a “serious sexual predator”, was today (24 October) jailed for for five years after being convicted of sexual activity with a child following a trial in August.

Jarvis was handed a 12 month suspended sentence and handed a restraining order banning her from contacting the victim after she was found guilty of the same charge.

Prosecutor James Hartson said that there was a "very clear element of grooming behaviour” from Simmonds who knew “at all times” how old the girl was. The girl had in fact told Simmonds her age on one of her very first messages.

Prosecutor Hartson added: "The defendants didn’t care about her age when they were planning and engaging in a so-called threesome with the victim.

“They also knew what they did was wrong and they agreed a pact of silence when they got wind she had started to talk about it.”

The encounter was instigated in January 2024 with Simmonds messaging Jarvis asking when he should “pop over”.

The girl was then informed of the plan with Simmonds telling her “you will both do what daddy says”.

Simmonds made Jarvis and the girl “do stuff” with each other before having sex with both of them, the court heard.

Showing no remorse or guilt for his actions, Simmonds texted Jarvis after the incident saying, “You both loved that haha”.

To which Jarvis replied “Yeah, you missed round two”.

In an attempt to cover up their crimes, the pair decided to enter into a pact of silence after Simmonds feared that the girl may reveal what had happened.

He texted Jarvis saying: "Hey, I have a feeling that [name of alleged victim] has said about us.
