Tragedy this morning in Fenegrò. Around 9:40 a.m., 27-year-old Josep Martinez, Inter’s second goalkeeper, hit an 81-year-old man who was moving in an electric wheelchair with his car. The impact was extremely violent and, despite the immediate intervention of the rescue teams, there was nothing that could be done for the elderly man — his death was confirmed at the scene.

The accident occurred not far from the Appiano training ground. A rescue helicopter from Como, an ambulance from the Saronno Red Cross, and the Carabinieri from the Cantù station responded to the scene to carry out investigations and reconstruct the exact dynamics of the accident. The footballer, 27, was unharmed but deeply shaken by what happened.

The road was temporarily closed to allow rescue operations and the usual checks. The entire community is in shock over the tragedy. Updates to follow.
