Original Title: Jimmy Haslem gives Kevin Stefankski a vote of confidence: “Kevin’s done a really good job with us, and we’ve had some tough breaks,” Haslam said“… A big trade we made didn’t work out, and you know, we’re all suffering from that…”

Haslem was asked by the Athletic’s Dianna Russini about Kevin Stefanski and his future in Cleveland given the lack of team success since 2020 outside of the magical Joe Flacco run.

“Kevin’s done a really good job with us, and we’ve had some tough breaks,” Haslam said, referencing the megadeal that brought Deshaun Watson to Cleveland. “… A big trade we made didn’t work out, and you know, we’re all suffering from that. Kevin, I thought, really did a great job of rallying the troops last week at a really critical time. You find out about leaders when things are bad, not when they’re good, and he did a good job last week.”

As a Browns fan, I think Stefanksi is cooked. His offensive scheme isn’t fooling anyone anymore and I don’t think he’s leading the locker room very well. It’s funny that Haslem tries to give Stefanski a pass on the Watson trade as if Kevin wasn’t aligned with Andrew Berry and Paul DePodesta to make the trade. He was all in on Watson and wanted to get rid of baker as soon as he could.
