egypt on one side: gated communities (compounds), international schooling, malls and maybe even a home in sahel
egypt on the other side: national (public or language schools), less fun things to do, struggling to live every month etc

Where it was supposed to lift third world countries from poverty and instead created bigger wealth gaps?
Font know really. It’s like that in many places… India, Mexico, South Africa just a few that I have seen.
It’s mostly failure of the state.
