I sat down to watch the newtflix series on Ed Gein expecting a true-crime or first-person perspective, only to find them making him into a nazi.
There is zero real evidence that Ed Gein had any Nazi sympathies, political ideology, or exposure to Nazi propaganda. He was an isolated man living in rural Wisconsin in the 1940s–50s with limited social contact and almost no political involvement. All credible psychological and police reports describe him as a mentally disturbed recluse obsessed with his mother and death — not as someone with fascist or antisemitic leanings.
So what the heck is with them making him into a nazi? I’m really sad, I was hoping to look forward to it.
Does anyone know if this continues past the first episode?
