Welcome to week 7 of the 2025 r/NFL power rankings, the most biased, unbiased source for power rankings on the web. The week as a whole would have been fairly unnoteworthy, if not for an opening week old-man strength battle, as Aaron Rodgers and Joe Flacco duked it out on a Thursday Night game even Al Michaels would be proud to call. Sean Payton’s classic walking-on-the-field voodoo magic saved Sunday, while Matt Stafford and co. trounced the Jaguars in London. Andy Reid coached his first career shutout, the Titans lost to a more senior coaching staff, and Raheem Morris/Jeff Ulbrich looked lost against their respective former mentors. Is the Massachusetts MAYEflower the second coming of Brady? Are the Bears and Cowboys and Seahawks and Colts for real for real? Are the Bucs falling back to reality? Discuss! 31/32 Reporting

| 1. | Lions | +1 | 5-2 | Kelvin Sheppard is a wizard. The Detroit Lions were missing 6 of their top 7 DBs heading into MNF, relying on Amik Robertson, Rock Ya-Sin, and a hodgepodge of recent roster signings to slow down the Buccaneers. Auburn Hills native and Saginaw State alum Nick Whiteside II—a 2nd year UDFA signed to the active roster October 11th—went off for his hometown team with 2 tackles and 3 pass break-ups on key downs. Arthur Maulet—signed to the active roster earlier today—had 5 tackles and a pass break-up to go along with a crazy interception he wrestled control of while locked with Cade Otton. Erick Hallett—signed October 11th as well—led the team with 6 solo tackles and helped on two more. We watched NFL careers get extended last night. I’d also like to shout out Alim McNeil, who made his first start of the season tonight off a torn ACL and set up a lawn chair in the Bucs backfield. On a disappointing night for the offense, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown carried, combining for over 300 yards and all 3 TDs. Gibbs himself had over 200 yards, averaging 8 yards a carry on the ground and 27.3 yards a catch through the air. The Lions head into the bye with a huge win against an NFC rival, but have some things to figure out on offense before they welcome Minnesota to Detroit on the 2nd. | |
| 2. | Colts | +1 | 6-1 | Hope you’re ready for a stat-heavy blurb this week because we’ve got the numbers to back up just how good this team is. Through Week 7, the Indianapolis Colts have the best offense in the NFL. They’ve scored the most points per game (33.1) — more than any Peyton Manning-led Colts team through seven games. They’ve also gained the second-most yards per game (380.3). Indy is scoring more points per drive (3.46) than any NFL team this century! Daniel Jones is top 5 in passing yards (1,790) and completion percentage (71.0), and is second only to Dak Prescott in QBR (80.2). He’s earned the right to be a little sassy with the media. Jonathan Taylor leads the league in rushing yards (697) and rushing touchdowns (10), and already has three games with three rushing scores. The Colts also have the 8th-best scoring defense (20.0 points/game), despite being just outside the bottom 10 in yards allowed per game (345.7, 22nd) and playing without their four best cornerbacks for most of the season. They also have the league’s third-best turnover margin (+7). There are some difficult games ahead on the schedule — @KC and @SEA are the most daunting, for my money — but this team is playing like it can beat anyone, and it has the league-best record to show for it. | |
| 3. | Rams | +3 | 5-2 | Finally, a complete game against a good team. McVay was specifically prepared for the Jags and didn’t get overly conservative in the second half, the offense got off to a hot start, the defense was excellent on 3rd and 4th downs, and there were no self-inflicted errors. And all this without Puka. The Rams now head into the bye with a great start to the season, but are only 3rd place in the division, so have some important matchups upcoming. | |
| 4. | Chiefs | +3 | 4-3 | Absolute and total domination in every phase. Nobody thought the Raiders were going to win on Sunday but I don’t think anyone expected them to be so thoroughly embarrassed. I told anyone who would listen that a Rashee Rice any time TD was the easiest sports bet of all time and I wasn’t wrong. The Chiefs have waited for two years to see what this offense would look like with Rice/Worthy/Hollywood and it lived up to the expectation. The team is now betting favorites to win the Super Bowl and for Patrick to win his 3rd MVP in 8 years. Unfortunately ONL tore his ACL and is out for the season so I would expect the Chiefs to make some trade deadline moves to address the only real hole on the roster DT. | |
| 5. | Buccaneers | -4 | 5-2 | I decided to write about this Sunday night. I just waited until tonight’s game to make the intro. Sadly, it’s a negative one. We sucked. Things got even worse than what I wanted to write as the game was horrible top to bottom. GG Detroit, you are |

| 6. | Eagles | +2 | 5-2 | Devonta Smith with a career long touchdown and receiving yards, and two touchdowns should calm down the receiving core, right? Hurts played up to his contract, and even though the game was won on the back of Carson throwing two picks , a win was needed to stay on track in a touch NFC East. With Brandon Graham returning, the Eagles have another locker room leader to set the tone. Now it’s time to figure out how to fix the running game, but at least Saquon continues to pass the eye test. | |
| 7. | Packers | -2 | 4-1-1 | Two things can be true. We can be incredibly thankful for a road W after the team was stranded on the tarmac for 5 hours yesterday and laud the offense for coming back from a 10 point deficit and the defense getting a stop when they needed one. We can also hold the team to a higher standard and be disappointed that we let a 2-4 team hang around for way too long because of undisciplined penalties and some porous sec… |
