So I am curious whether there is something that is perceived as the connective tissue that makes True Detective what it is. I enjoyed Night Country and am now watching Season 1 (yeah I know, wrong order), but is there thought to be something beyond two detectives, with a depressing case in an evocative landscape, with some mystical/supernatural elements?
