Louisville is now in possession of the College Football Belt with their 24–21 victory over Belt holder #3 Miami. The Cardinals are now 1–3 in Belt games, and the Hurricanes are 46–15.

This is the Cardinals’ first Belt win and first reign as Belt champions!

Their next defense of the Belt is a home game next Saturday against Boston College. This will be the Eagles’ tenth Belt game and their first since since a 34–7 loss on September 23, 2017 to Belt-holder Clemson.

A recap of the Belt’s journey this season:

For those who don’t know what the Belt is, it is an unofficial trophy that traces the lineage of the “best” teams going all the way back to the first-ever CFB game. For a more complete description, check out the /u/BleedScarletandBlack’s post on it. Additionally, a comprehensive database of all Belt games played created by me and /u/BlueSCar can be found here.
