For me, I’m glad that Lisa Kudrow didn’t end up playing Roz Doyle on Frasier. Although I love Lisa Kudrow and think it’s a shame that James Burrows had to fire her, I think this was a blessing in disguise as personally I don’t think Roz’s lines/character fit with Kudrow’s voice and this led to Peri Gilpin being cast who was the perfect Roz. In addition, I highly doubt that Kudrow gets cast Phoebe from Friends if she stayed on Roz and I don’t want to imagine Phoebe without Lisa Kudrow playing her.
I’m also kinda glad that Adam Scott and Kathryn Hahn didn’t get cast as Jim and Pam from The Office. Despite Scott successfully playing a somewhat similar character in Ben Wyatt on Parks & Rec, I can’t really see him as Jim for some odd reason. With Kathryn Hahn, I feel like she’s at her best when playing quirky and eccentric characters like in Parks & Rec and WandaVision and I just think Pam would’ve been too normal of a character for Hahn.
With all this being said, I’m curious as to what you all think are some other examples of this?
