Original Title: After Week 7, the three highest ranked teams in the SEC and ACC are all undefeated in conference play and do not face each other. An undefeated team could miss the conference championship on tie breakers.
At the start of the season, I did this for the ACC, Big Ten, Big XII, and SEC. This is my third update, which comes with the new context that the remaining teams are mostly the highest ranked teams (not SMU).
Unsurprisingly, the number of possible combinations has dropped substantially from 173 to 15 two weeks ago, to 3 last week. None of the possibilities last week were eliminated.
I italicized teams which are not undefeated in OOC play and included their AP ranking if they had one.
| Conference | Team 1 | Team 2 | Team 3 |
|---|---|---|---|
| SEC | #4 Alabama | #5 Ole Miss | #4 Texas A&M |
| ACC | #2 Miami | #12 Georgia Tech | #18 Virginia |
| ACC | SMU | #12 Georgia Tech | #18 Virginia |
