It was such a weird thing ABC Family did at the time, from essentially 2003-2006 XYZ was a “Sub name” to ABC Family originally XYZ was supposed to be the new name for the station but they really did believe that they had to maintain the word family within whatever name they chooses. So I guess they thought the best case scenario was to incorporate the “XYZ” name within ABC Family’s branding. Goes to show you that you have to read your contracts carefully. Also I guess by the time they finally saw that they didn’t have to keep “family” within the name ABC/Disney was just so over the “XYZ” name.
