I’m running through the series again and currently at Season 4 and i keep finding myself mesmerised by how they truly make the city look and feel truly alive and honest. There’s a ton of amazing cinematography in this show but they really seem to have made an art of those long tracking shots of backgrounds and cityscapes.
Considering it was almost wholly shot in location, it does of course make sense, but because Bosch goes on for multiple seasons it truly takes advantage of so many LA locations and areas. I keep finding places that look interesting or gorgeous and just taking notes here and there for my next visit.
I would easily put it in the same stratosphere as The Wire for making the city feel like a true character of the show.
