I’ve always kind of accepted the commercials as part of the dynamic of the game. But this season is out of control and it’s killing my interest in the game. Last week’s Penn state game on CBS they quite literally showed the exact same 4 commercials every. Single. Break. And as much as I enjoy bad horror movies, if I had to hear a small child being tortured one more time during the Exorcist trailer I was going to lose my mind.

Then, this week during Penn State-Northwestern there were 30 minutes of commercials in the first 8 minutes of game time. One break lasted so long I got busy doing something, forgot I was watching, completed the task, remembered, came back, and the teams had just set up at the line of scrimmage on the first play after the break. I can’t imagine being at the game and just sitting in the stands watching literally no football for 30 out of 38 minutes. And the worst part is that even with the NIL growth not one player on the field during this sees a dollar of this money. It’s all going back to Fox/Disney/Viacom and the conference execs.

Commercials suck. The games are getting hard to watch because of it. End of rant
