I ended up watching ‘Ballard’ when I had some time to kill - liked the show and ended up following through by watching Bosch and Bosch: Legacy over the last 1-2 months. Both Bosch and Bosch: Legacy are just fantastic to watch - I love police procedurals and these are some of the best acted, directed, filmed and scored in recent memory. There’s an occasional hiccup here and there but Titus Welliver really carries the show as Bosch, a jazz-loving and hard-boiled LAPD detective (Bosch) and then a private investigator (Legacy) who does not hesitate to blur procedural boundaries when it clashes with his moral boundaries. Such a rich cast of characters - defense attorney and then DA Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers), Bosch’s daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz), his second in command (Jamie Hector, then Stephen Chang) and a large roster of good actors. What I really like about this show are the 4-5 concurrent storylines that are parallel tracked in a given season and solved right there or solved in a subsequent season. Bosch season 4 was simply phenomenal. Legacy takes off to a slow start but does very well in its three seasons. Wish I could see more of Bosch… great show!!
