Task is the best show on television and it’s not even particularly close. Episode 5 was one of the most phenomenally written, acted, and beautifully shot pieces of cinema I’ve seen in years. The scene chemistry between the actors lights up the screen and I’m entirely invested in how this will end for nearly every character and their respective arc within the show. I refuse to believe the hate for it is anything but rage-bait. People complaining about characters being irrational or unlikable or certain things seeming unbelievable clearly haven’t touched grass or seen the news lately. The world and its entirely unqualified inhabitants is all three of those things. Irrational, unbelievable, and more often than not lately, very much unlikeable. This show oozes authenticity and realness and if I’m choosing to watch it over Sunday Night Football then it’s clearly doing something for me whether or not it does the same for anyone else.
