What are all time great shows that you could never get into. And why?

Everybody should expect to get a lot of downvotes.

Here are mine.

The Wire

I started watching it a long time ago and gave up by episode 5 or 6. Gave it another chance months later. Same thing.

Why? I was and still am at a point where I don’t want to watch poverty/crime/hopelessness/police brutality trauma porn. I don’t doubt that the show is excellent. All the critics and acclaim cant be wrong. I might have enjoyed The Wire at a different point in my life but that time has passed.

The Sopranos

Never bothered to watch.

Until recently, I never liked mob movies. So a mob TV show was dead on arrival for me. I’m not against crimes movies or TV shows (I loved Breaking Bad) but the mob aesthetic always rubbed me the wrong way. Ironically, Goodfellas has now become a comfort watch. So has other mob movies. But this is not enough for me to want to watch The Sopranos.
