I’ve been watching Alien Earth every week and honestly, I’m not sure how I feel. Curious if anyone’s in the same boat.
Visually, it’s great. The sets, the lighting, the atmosphere, it all feels like real sci-fi. Episode 5 was probably the peak for me. It had that classic Alien tension that creeps in slow. Definitely a standout.
Wendy is an interesting character. That whole blend of synthetic and human gives the show something deeper. The themes about identity, control, and tech addiction actually hit. It’s trying to do more than just horror or fan service, and I respect that.
But the pacing is rough. Some episodes feel sharp and tight, others just stall. Episode 6 dragged for me. And a few characters just kind of float around without much purpose. Kirsh could’ve been way more than a quiet background guy.
As for the creatures, they look cool but they don’t scare. The original Xeno still wins that battle easy. Even the big one in the finale didn’t land for me. Not bad, just not memorable.
Overall, I’m glad the show exists. It takes risks and doesn’t play it safe. That alone makes it worth checking out. But it’s not flawless either. I’d probably land around a 7.5 out of 10.
Anyone else following it? Curious what worked or didn’t for you.
