I feel like sitcoms just aren’t long enough anymore. Eight episodes? That works for a drama, sure, but for a comedy it’s way too short. Back in the day we got 20+ episodes a season, and that gave us time to really live with the characters. Think about The Office—part of why people love it so much is because we spent years getting to know those people, watching them grow in little ways episode after episode.

With only 8 episodes, you don’t get that slow burn or the weird little side plots that make characters feel real. Everything has to be rushed and “tight.” It’s like we’re only getting a highlight reel instead of the full ride.

Anyone else feel like networks and streamers should bring back longer sitcom seasons?
