Several years after the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal, once all of the talk show appearances had all dried up for Monica, Tom Green (just think if Borat was Canadian) revived and rehabilitated Monica Lewinsky’s career by putting her back in the spotlight in the stupidest way possible.
Monica agreed to go on the show but instead Tom made a whole unscripted special where he, Monica, and a flatulent cameraman go to Ottawa, Tom’s hometown, with a vague goal of finding “fabric”.
The kicker was that Monica was not only sympathetic, she was adorable. In a bizarre cringy way, so was Tom.
They just go to some of Tom’s old acquaintances (friends would be a stretch) and barge their way into situations while purloining various textile goods. The special made reality TV look refined, but Monica managed to parlay her second 15 minutes of fame into a more enduring popularity.
