Some of the Week One Hot Takes I think that have already been proven wrong:
- Seahawks in crisis after losing to the Rams: While getting off to a disappointing start to a bad squad, the Seahawks have bounced back with two electric offensive performances. They’ll face a Giants squad next Monday that is still reeling from 2 blowouts in their first 3 games, and could very well get off to a 3-1 start.
- Jags gonna run away with the AFC South: While the Jags had a commanding Week 1 win over a Colts squad starting a rookie QB, they very quickly crashed back to Earth after managing just 9 points against the Chiefs and getting blown out by a Texans squad expected to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this year. After 3 weeks, the Colts are leading the division with a 2-1 record.
- Cardinals Cratering for Caleb: While I expect the Cardinals to finish the season towards the bottom of the league, they have proven that they’ll compete for 4 quarters and try to punch above their weight class. They blew 4th quarter leads against the Commanders and Giants, and last weekend just upset a Cowboys team that was favored by 2 scores.
What other early storylines have already vanished or been proven false?
