Almost all “limited series” in the last 10 years that are successful and nominated for an Emmy find a way to come back. Studios and creatives always want to milk the cow so is there any point to that genre’s existence now?

It used to be that 2-4 part miniseries couldn’t possibly compete against 24 episode network shows, so the category’s existence was justified. Now? Many “limited series” are longer than the dramas nominated

Not to mention anthology shows that clog the category now are all ongoing shows with the same concept, same crew and creators. AHS brand has been going on for 13 years! Yet it still competes against new shiny shows

Following shows have all either returned or planned to return:

-Big Little Lies

-The Sinner

-Mare of Easttown

-The White Lotus

-Beef

-The Penguin

-Adolescence

-Wolf Hall

-The Night Manager

Or rename the category as Fresman Series and allow all new shows to compete there
