I’ve been watching some old monster-of-the-week style tv shows and I’m constantly amazed by how satisfying they are. Each episode is a complete story with a beginning, middle, and end.
Modern serialized shows drip feed you the plot and character development. Almost nothing happens in each episode. It’s like they had enough ideas for a 90 minute movie, but stretched it out to be 8-12 hours.
And I can’t help but feel bored by it.
