Question, Why did Buffalo Bill failed?
Allow me to explain, I was made aware of this show by looking up on short lived television and apparently the head of NBC, Brandon Tartikoff, regretted cancelling the story.
So the show is about the misadventures of an egotistical talk shot host, Ben Bittinger, portrayed by Dabney Coleman. and the staff who suffered under him, all played by Joanna Cassidy, Geena Davis, Max Wright, Charlie Robinson, and John Fielder.
Though the show received great notice, it was cancelled after 2 seasons because of Low Ratings. Now there are episodes on YouTube and I watched a few episode and I have a theory on why it failed. Though many considered it a strength, I think it was a mistake at making Bill too much of an egocentric. I just wonder why people put up with him and I wonder why he stills has a job if everyone doesn’t like him & barely tolerate him. (with the exception of John Fielder’s character). I think audience just didn’t want to see a protagonist that irredeemable.
That is just what I think but what do you think? Why did this show failed?
