There’s become more visibility for all minorities in 21st century screen entertainment.
And Geri Jewell on “Deadwood” stands out for me.
It had already been revolutionary to have had a person with Cerebal Palsy as a recurring cast member on a primetime TV show like “The Facts of Life” in 1979. She had inspired countless disabled people across the country to enter the Entertainment industry.
Then came her role on “Deadwood”. She was funny, endearing and admirable. One of my favorite characters in a show already stacked with favorite characters.
She’s an icon in the disabled community (let alone the lesbian community)
I just watched “Only Murders in the Building” and found James Caverly’s performance also captivating.
