Landman (2025). Interesting thing – on Reddit, most posts/comments were trashing it, saying it wasn’t worth it, full of flaws, not accurate, etc. But on Instagram, I saw the complete opposite – people praising it like crazy, calling it one of the best of 2025, especially the production quality. Haven’t seen such a split in a while. So I gave it a shot.
Here are my thoughts (spoilers): Morally questionable stuff: • Sexualizing a 17-year-old character and throwing those kinds of comments is just wrong. If they wanted to show that kind of character arc, at least make her 20+. No one would’ve cared, but putting her as 17 and then doing all that felt really off. • Ali Larter’s character was really well-played, but the way the show glorified cheating wasn’t cool. Some of her dialogues didn’t sit right either. • Cooper & Adriana’s relationship – as a love story, it works, but morally? She literally lost her husband 3 days ago and then she’s kissing a 20-year-old. They even pushed it to the sex part instead of waiting, which felt rushed and a bit wrong. • Positives: • Tommy’s arc was great. The humor, the way his character was portrayed, everything clicked. • Cooper’s arc (ignoring the moral side) was also good. • Production quality was insane. Every shot looked cinematic, and the finale was solid.
Overall, I’d say it’s not as overrated as IG makes it out to be, but also not as trash as Reddit paints it. It’s somewhere in between, and honestly, I’m kinda looking forward to S2.
Question for discussion: Do you guys think Tommy will kiss Cami in Season 2? Pretty sure he’s gonna, but curious about your takes.
