The amount of commercials now is crazy and has been beaten to death, but I’ve noticed almost no one seems to mention how we just go to commercials during reviews now. I remember it happening in the past occasionally, but this year I have yet to see a single one where they don’t go to commercial instead of letting fans watch it.

Why on earth is this acceptable? Reviews are quite literally part of the game and often times have impacts on the outcome.

Sure, the play clock isn’t running, but something that directly effects the outcome is going on and we’re just supposed to be fine with missing it? If they want to go to commercial when nothing impacting the outcome is occurring, fine, but don’t do it when something is actually happening.

Say it’s a big game and there’s a touchdown catch that’s under review in the 4th quarter, the broadcast shows a quick replay and immediately goes to commercial. The commercials end and they make the announcement with fans having no idea what to think.

Cramming commercials in everywhere is awful, but cramming commercials into situations that actually impact the game is abysmal. Let fans actually watch the freaking game.
