The Paper is a spiritual sequel to The Office and while it’s slow to start it does have its charm. I’ve watched 4 episodes now and I like what they’re trying to do, but what’s making it difficult for me to get back and keep watching isEsmerelda.
The character is an obvious foil but it’s set up so poorly that they have no redeeming characteristics and any momentum is instantly killed.
For this show to succeed, they need to do a Parks & Rec type reset, remove this one character and maybe bring someone else from The Office.
