For me I feel Breaking Bad had one of the best well rounded and well paced stories. Not too fast, not too slow, characters had deaths and conclusions.
However I must say I will always appreciate The Sopranos for having the best “world building” out of any tv show I have ever seen. They just make it feel like this is a real family and we are just seeing the footage of it.
Like I believe it was in season 3, an entire hour long episode was dedicated to the FBI trying to get a mic into Tony’s home. Every time they showed the main characters, it was extremely candid and just showing the random shit they happened to be doing that single day in their life. Them hanging out at their favorite spot doing nothing, exclaiming random stuff that came to their characters minds. Zero plot development ensued that entire episode for any of the main characters, but you just got to know them better cause you see how they are like when shit isn’t going down. Made it feel more “real”. Love that show for that
