I post this to spark conversations, not to rile up anyone.

Some positives: Four of the LGBT community (Einbinder, Hillsr Tillman, Doherty) won. Tillman especially made history as the first Black man to win in Supporting Drama, way too long overdue. Stephen Graham is 1/4th black so I’m counting him, too. Frida Perez became the first Latina to win for Producing and Writing, again, very overdue.

But overall? It was a very white ceremony. 10/12 winners were white. All the directing wins were straight white men. Most PoC winners were relegated to the producing and writing staff, which is vitally important to recognize them, but the fact the most marginalized in our community couldn’t even get a good percentage of winning representation is a disgrace. They need to do better.
