I know most hate ads here and I understand why people prefer ad free plans. That said, I’m not looking for a discussion as to why people hate them or why they will never subscribe to a plan with ads.
After my wife stopped working, we cut back on what we spend on streaming. We have some plans with ads and some without. Has there been an article that measures the amount of ads per hour on each streaming service?
We get the Netflix and Max with ads through Verizon for $10 a month (I don’t think ad free is an option.) Our experience is that Max has way more ads than Netflix to the point that we do not watch many shows on Max. Wasn’t Max’s ad version initially supposed to be ad-free for Max produced shows? That is not the case anymore.
We always get ad-free Paramount Plus plan when they have their $.99 per month deals. How are ads on the Paramount Plus Essential Plan? Currently, the Essential Plan is only $29 per year.
We got the Hulu Black Friday $.99 per month deal and that has a lot of ads as well. Same with the Peacock Black Friday deal although I think they have fewer ads than Hulu.
On occasion we will get a free month of Prime and we’ve found that their ad-plan is similar to Netflix as far as the amount of ads.
We’ve also found that on the few shows that we’ve watched on Tubi, the ads aren’t as bad as expected.
So Hulu and Max are the worst followed by Peacock. So far Netflix and Prime aren’t too bad if you are looking to save money. Not sure about Paramount’s ad plan.
