Game of Thrones had two, sometimes three units in different parts of the world filming at once, when some of the cast would be in Belfast shooting North scenes, they’d sometimes have another set in another part of Northern Ireland shooting Dany scenes or Cersei scenes, or sometimes they’d have a second unit in Croatia or Spain filming King’s Landing/ Dorne/ Essos scenes. This was pretty much a completely unique thing for Television, like yeah they were making yearly release schedules but it’s because they were pretty much filming two shows concurrently.

Game of Thrones is one of the few shows where you see how much it cost to make and you think “Yeah that makes sense, I can see where they would spend that much money”
