I've noticed a trend of any posts by the libertarianish orgs like Reason, Cato, FEE that are pro-getting vaccinated being met with hostility EVEN though they arent arguing for mandates/passports etc. I do not understand why so many are opposed to vaccination, on a personal level. I understand the mRNA vaccines are new but the data seems to be overwhelming that the vaccines work, at least to the extent that they are very effective at preventing hospitalizations and death.
At an anecdotal level, most of my friends and family are vaccinated and theyre all fine and not getting sick. I know, personally around 50-100 people or so where this is the case. No serious complications and no covid.
At a medical study/macro scale, the data Ive read independently by anyone and everyone mirrors the "popular view" as well- that they do provide greatly enhanced immunity and resiliency and the vaccine risks are far lower than the covid infection risks. I understand natural immunity is just as effective after prior infection as well and those people dont need it (Im one of them and unvaccinated because of it). However, if youre not one of those people and dont have a history of any vaccine reactions, getting the vaccine only makes sense.
What do yall think?

Test reply on hoot, so no idea who can see this...
The vaccines are fine. Making them (or for that matter medical procedure) mandatory or pseudo-mandatory is not fine.
That said, my experience is different from yours and the 'popular view'. Many colleagues have had to have days off work after vaccine side affects. Several 2x vaccinated friends have since gotten fairly ill with covid.
