Exposition scenes often annoy viewers, but at the end of the day they’re necessary so that the viewer can understand what’s going on or get important context and backstory. The problem isn’t the exposition itself, it’s how it’s delivered.

But sometimes we get exposition on things we don’t actually need exposition for because we already know them, either because it was already said earlier in the episode or because it’s blatantly obvious from just paying attention and we don’t need a character to say it out loud. Like how the first episode of Game of Thrones felt the need to repeat several times that Cersei and Jaime are brothers, just to make absolutely sure that viewers are shocked at seeing them have sex at the end.

Or worse, we get a flashback to a scene we only saw a few minutes ago to make it clear that the thing from earlier is relevant now, which is especially common in Anime.
