I work in healthcare and scrubs is the most accurate representation of day to day life in a hospital that has ever been represented TV. Because our lives are mostly us doing our jobs so they’re not nearly as exciting as a ER or House makes them about to be. When I watch veep I get a similar feel where the show is clearly lampooning the day to day of American government but it feels more real then the west wing where every character is written by Aaron Sorkin
