While y’all have been doing appropriate pre-season prep - stocking up on beers, figuring out the streaming provider you’re going to suffer through, putting prop bets that’ll never hit on your team, etc. - I’ve been nerding out on a tool that I think this group will like.
I’ve shared versions of it before, but now it’s much more refined and has new features so I wanted to do an official announcement here and take any questions/feedback before the season really gets going.
The tool can be found at cfb-ranking.com
The main features are:
- The Quiz - Ten questions, sort of like blind resume comparisons, that you answer and then see the rankings that come out of those answers. **If you take it now, be sure to check out how it would have ranked teams at the end of 2024 and 2023, since 2025 data is comical right now.
- Custom Rankings - If you don’t want to mess with the quiz, you can just adjust the different criteria your own way and see how it ranks all FBS teams. There’s a single criteria set saved in the library called “CFB Summary” with the combined results of the quiz if you want a starting point.
- Resume Comparison - This is still pretty new and I have a lot I want to add to it, but you can see a bunch of good data side by side for selected teams.
If you choose to create a free account (passwordless, just need an email), you also get:
- The ability to save your criteria. That way you can easily come back as the season progresses and see how things are updating.
- Custom formatting based on your favorite (fbs) team.
- Ranking and resume comparisons all the way back to 2010, for any week of each season.
I’m hoping y’all like it! Like I mentioned, hmu if you have any suggestions or see issues.
