I was unfortunately a student during the early stages of the Longhorn dark ages - so for them it would have to be 2012. Ended the season as a Top 20 team and felt good after the Alamo Bowl victory. The late season losses to KSU and TCU both stung but it was a halfway decent squad. 2013 was comically in the running for the Big XII up until the end but that was an underwhelming close.
Took a long academic break before going to grad school, so for SMU, it was the 2023 AAC championship squad.
