I’ve never watched Love Island before, but the new season (Season 7) caught my attention because of Huda Mustafa. Out of curiosity about her bold personality and drama on the show, I started watching a few episodes.

Later, I learned that Huda is Palestinian-Jordanian and from a Muslim family. That got me thinking: given her background, it’s interesting that she’s on a show where the reunion host, Andy Cohen, is openly Zionist, and she was seen being affectionate with Elan Biblas, another contestant who identifies as Zionist.

Looking through Huda’s social media, I haven’t noticed any posts or comments in support of Palestine. I might have missed something, so I’m curious, has she ever publicly spoken about it?

I also find it interesting in a broader media context: A-list American celebrities are often criticized or “canceled” for silence on Palestine, yet I haven’t seen much discussion about Huda in this regard. Is it because she’s a reality TV newcomer, or is there something else at play in how audiences respond?

I’d love to hear thoughts, both about Huda’s presence on the show and the larger conversation about media, identity, and political expectations.
