For me, you can’t beat the example from The Walking Dead.
“They’re gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out…” “Find out what?” Dramatic pause, music swells, zoom in to Rick “… they’re fucking with the wrong people.” Just absolute perfection, could’ve been one of the best season-enders in history.
Because of censorship, though, they changed it to “they’re screwing with the wrong people” in the broadcast release, and it completely sucks out all of the gravitas of the moment. Turns a chilling 10/10 scene into a cringy 2/10 one.
