Seems like it’s the general consensus among the critics but I really like the direction the story went. Felt like it was better than the later seasons of the show. They didn’t rely too much on callbacks from previous seasons and the characters felt the same despite their obvious age (seeing Boomhauer serve Connie a cocktail was weird to watch). Some of the things I was hesitant on like the animation and voice acting didn’t actually hinder my enjoyment of the show; the animation actually grew on me and the voice acting was still strong all around (not so much for Ronny as Kahn)
Truthfully, Bobby was the star of the new season. I really enjoyed the direction they took with him, he still retains his core personality but also shows growth thanks to his dad’s influence. Bobby didn’t grow up as some exaggerated version of himself from previous seasons, he pretty much grew up in a way Hank would be proud of him. Hell the moments with Hank and Bobby were the highlights of the season.
My favorite episode is probably the GH episode. The episode was topical but didn’t feel like it was forced in there. The final scenes of the episode showing GH saying goodbye to Hank as Hank remembers Cotton was a nice development for Hank despite this coming from a sequel season that takes places years after the last season.
That’s my Ted talk, thanks for reading… bye now.
