So I was reading through comments here as I am want to do and came across a good point made by u/Lemonadesauce3. He/she stated that under an ancap system it would not be out of the realm of reason to suggest that tenets living in a slumlords property could homestead the property away from the previous owner. The idea being that because the landlord is not improving or maintaining the property it is, for all intents and purposes, abandoned. If the tenants were to make improvments themselves and work to maintain the property they could eventually make the argument that they have homesteaded the property and it should now reasonably belong to them. I would imagine that such an act would have to be hashed out via an arbitration panel of some sort, the specifics would depend on how exactly society is structured. The core idea resonated with me, though, and I wanted a larger consensus. I would imagine that this would extend to actual abandoned buildings as well. What are your thoughts?
