I’m 30 and have been on oral birth control since my period started at 12. I have low testosterone, zero libido, and not sure if I’m asexual. I have no idea what it is like to naturally go through puberty without hormones, what it’s like to have normal periods, or have a sex drive. I don’t know what my natural state is. I really want to try coming off bc but it’s hard because I feel like the only pregnancy prevention that’s more effective is abstinence and I’m in a long term relationship (that’s strained due to my lack of interest in sex). Women who were on the pill consistently for years (especially if you started it young) and were able to come off, what changes did you go through and how which methods did you switch to for pregnancy prevention? How long did it take to feel your normal self? Was it rough in the early stages?
