I know I’m late to the game, but I just discovered Banshee on HBOMax, and despite being corny, having a million plot holes, introducing new villains constantly, and every character, regardless of background, being a mixed martial arts master, it is wildly entertaining.
I also feel like the directing is fantastic. The set pieces are great, the fight choreography is awesome, the music is well scored, and they actually got the military uniforms more correct than most shows, with the exception that Marines can’t wear their uniform off base.
Edit: Someone asked about plot holes in the comments and I just remembered that my enjoyment of the show overrode my annoyance that Sheriffs are elected officials (not hired) who work for the county, not the city.
