I want to first apologize to the critics who I gave the side eye for slamming the show for not having any representation of the beautiful array of ethnicities living in NYC IRL! I was younger when the series started and unfortunately my close friends group lacked the same although we had good friends of all ethnicities individually.

Although I still enjoy the show and find it funny, still, sometimes the humour now makes me cringe at times. Especially the jokes regarding women, weight, the transgender community well actually the LGBTQIA community as a whole! the wealth disparity, mental illness & treating suicide as a punch line. I’ve heard the argument a thousand times it was a product of its time but I think this critical flaw ought to be called out if for no other reason than to educate and for the value of awareness. Oh yeah kick rocks to all the haters who will tell me to stop watching then. But doing so does begin to address the issue where calling it out could have an impact moving forward.
