Somehow, Saddam survived…
The South Park Movie is from 1999.
It’s older then Star Wars was in 1999. The Special Editions came out less then 2 years ago.
South Park had a whole arc about using nostalgia to manipulate people, only the lens was Star Wars nostalgia, Disney, *Make America Great “Again”*, ect.
Now we are hearing motifs of “I Can Change” as background music as a suspiciously familiar sounding Trump is an abusive partner to Satan.
“Member Saddam? Member Blame Canada? Member V-Chip? Member Uncle Fucka? Member I Can Change? Member Kyle’s Mom?”
Technically this isn’t even the first time South Park did a whole homage to the film. Kyle had an episode where he went on the same crusade against Terrance and Phillip as his mom, but this time, it feels different.
I’ve already seen people say “South Park is back!” with this premier, and I have to wonder if Matt and Trey are aware that they are using the same tools that Disney used with Star Wars, which they then lampooned.
