What show, in your opinion, talks about itself being a show the most?
For example Boy Meets World has a whole episode that is a farce of itself. The actors all playing different versions of themselves in a show that resembles their own show that you are watching (Eric Hollywood). And also has a scene referencing their own change of night/time in programming. As well as a few others.
But currently I am watching Boston Legal and they just don’t stop. And it’s hysterical. The first season ended abruptly. Lot of loose ends. Then a character comes back in season 2 and the two characters comment on the fact that he was taken off and show changed careers. Then someone later even comments on her being a guest star. A season final has a line admitting that it’s a sweeps (major episode determining if they’ll get picked back up for another season) episode. And the finale ends with a cheer/toast, made between the main characters, to ‘next season’.
I don’t know how others feel about these moment but I love them and honestly saved the show a bit that they acknowledge the inconsistency of the show but admitting their a show, in a very funny way.
