I read this story about Kirk Cousins in the Athletic. While the main point was how he felt misled around the Michael Penix selection, there’s a part where Cousins describes playing through injury and how you always wonder if you made the right decision on that in retrospect.

It got me thinking about quarterbacks who played through injury and ended up changing the trajectory of their career.

Baker Mayfield in 2021 is the obvious example to me, playing through a torn labrum in Cleveland. Had he not done that, he never has that wild stretch in Los Angeles and might not be a Buc today.

Cousins is a lesser example. But had he refused to play through the pain this year, would he have more trade suitors this offseason?

Any other guys that come to mind?
