I am working on a project where I want to gather historical events that can be related to libertarianism, especially focused in the European history.
I've gathered a few topics already:
* The Anarchist Republic of Cospaia
* Window Taxes in UK and France (How people dodged that)
* Reblochon: The french cheese born of tax evasion
* The houses of Strasbourg (How people dodged regulations/taxation)
* Rose Island
* REM Island
I already analysed ancient Iceland and Celtic Ireland, but I investigated a bit more more and I did not really get convinced by the evidences that I found that these places were truly related to some form of ancient libertarianism.
Basically, I am looking for interesting stories where people did something to outsmart the government's absurd regulations, ancient voluntary societies that were similar to Cospaia, without a government etc.
Thanks in advance.
